Lonavala, nestled in the in the Sahyadri Ranges of the Western Ghats, located at an altitude of 625 meters on the Pune- Mumbai highway, is a popular health resort. Rajmachi Point, located around 6.5 kilometers from Lonavala, lies on the way to Mumbai from Pune. It was named Rajmachi Point, as the Rajmachi Fort is located opposite to this point. Owned by Shivaji, this fort can be reached by foot, and is surrounded by deep valleys on three sides, and a thick forest on the fourth side.
Ryewood Park and Shivaji Udyan, are two beautiful gardens, best suited for families. Young kids would love to run around, enjoy swings and fun. The garden possesses majestic tall trees with perfectly cut green grass, beautiful flowers and lot of place to sit around and relax.
