» Lonavala Lake – An Eco Attraction Destination

Lonavala-lake Lonavala Lake, also known as 'Monsoon Lake' is a very beautiful lake which comes to life in the monsoon season and offers fascinating surrounding with natural beauty. This monsoon lake dries up during the winters and gets filled with water during the monsoon season. The source of this lake is the famous river Indrayani. It lies at a distance of around 1.6 kms on the outskirts of the Lonavala town.

The Lake of Lonavala was constructed in the year 1876 and was created by the TATA Electric company to conserve the catchments area's of its two other reservoirs namely Valvan & Shirota in the same vicinity.

This lake is a perfect place to relax after the day's hard work and is a great picnic spot around Lonavala. The tranquil surroundings and serene atmosphere offered by the Lonavala Lake are enough to lure tourists here.

This placid lake is a natural habitat of many water bodies. At the banks of this lake, one can be treated with a variety of birds. Thus the Lonavala Lake makes a bird watcher’s delight.
