» Popular and Scenic Lonavala Lakes

Lonavala is a beautiful hill station nestled amidst Sahyadri Mountains in Maharashtra, India. This scenic and famous hill station is also known as ‘Jewel of the Sahayadri’. Lonavala is endowed with awe-inspiring natural beauty in the form of rolling hills, deep valleys, lush green forests, cascading waterfalls and thriving lakes. There are several lakes in Lonavala that one could visit , and the best time for it would be in the monsoons as that is when they fill up to the brim.

Tungarli Lake: Tungarli Lake is an artificial reservoir, located north of S. T. Stand near Tungarli village. It is the major source of water supply to Lonavala city. There is a dam across the Lake which was built during the British era. This Dam features a peaceful surrounding with a lot of vegetation around. The camping facilities for the trekkers and tourists are available at the lake site.

Lonavala Lake: The Lonavala Lake which is popularly known as 'Monsoon Lake'. This lake is very beautiful which comes to life in the monsoon season and offers fascinating surrounding with natural beauty. The Lonavala Lake makes a bird watcher’s delight, attracts honeymooners and offers an excellent opportunity to enjoy excursion, swimming and nature viewing.

Pawna Lake: Pawna Lake is an artificial lake, is located at Kamshet, and lies at a distance of 32 Kms from Lonavala. This lake is attracted by many tourists because of its natural ambience and cool climate. Views of the forts of Lohagad, Tikona and Tungi are very popular and a must see tourist attraction here.
